A small nest for your young ant colony.
This nest is perfect for helping your colony grow when it's just starting out. It has multiple exits for easy expansion, so you can make the nest larger or connect it to a device that measures temperature and humidity (which you can get separately).
The nest has two rooms, allowing the colony to decide if they want to be near moisture or a bit further away. It's the same if you want to put a warm cable under the nest (you can get special feet for that separately).
What's included in this set:
The nest is made from a material called PLA (it's 3D printed) and is 5x5cm in size.
There's a separate white part inside the nest that you can take out. This part is also made from the same material (PLA).
There's a see-through cover made of a clear material called plexiglass. It has a small hole for adding moisture to the nest.
There are 3 openings in the nest:
2 of them are closed so you can seal off any extra openings.
1 is open, so you can connect the nest to the outside.
A sponge is included to absorb moisture.
There's a metal mesh to keep ants out of a certain area.
• The removable white part is useful if the nest is a different color from white, so you can see the ants better.
• The clear cover is attached with screws that can be easily removed if you need to clean the nest.
• You can attach a small tube (10mm wide) or a bigger tube (12mm wide) to the open opening.
• There's a place to add moisture, and too much moisture will go out the sides to avoid making the nest too wet. The metal mesh stops ants from going where they shouldn't and can be cleaned or replaced.
• The nest has natural-looking rooms with up to three openings (each 10mm wide), so you can add things like temperature and humidity sensors or even another nest.

This Mini Nest is part of our modular system, ensuring that you never buy something you won't use once your ant colony grows. The modular system is easily expandable with other components. All modules are 5 cm or a multiple of this size (for example, 5x5).

The item might contain delicate materials like glass, acrylic, ceramic, etc. Be cautious while unpacking.
The item could have sharp or pointed edges and may be fragile; handle with care.
Not intended for children to play with or use without adult supervision.
