A hub for ant nests to create additional space for a nest/formicarium or to serve as a gateway for various nest expansions within our modular nest system.
The hub is ideal as a passage to other options. You can connect multiple nests, drink hubs, or outdoor areas to it. The hub is also useful to provide extra room for a small nest.
With the option for a red nest cover, the hub can be used alongside your existing nest.
Included in this set:
• The Hub made of PLA (3D printed) 5x5
• A separate white (removable) inner part made of PLA (3D printed).
• 3mm transparent plexiglass cover.
• 4 nest openings, 2 sealed to close the additional openings and 2 open
to connect the hub to the nest and possibly the outside world.
• The white removable inner part is ideal if the exterior is a different color than white, allowing you to observe the ants clearly.
• The plexiglass is fastened with hex screws that are mounted in copper threads, making disassembly easy for tasks like cleaning the nest.
• The opening with a port can accommodate a small tube (OD 10mm) or a large tube (ID 12mm) (not included).
• There is space beneath the hub for a potential heat cable; nest feet are required for this (not included by default).
OPTIONS:
• The Hub is available in multiple colors.
• 3mm red (transparent) acrylic cover plate, allowing the hub/nest to be dark for most ants while still enabling observation of their progress.
• Additional types of nest ports can be purchased separately.
• Nest legs are available for separate purchase, allowing your module to be elevated slightly to accommodate the passage of a heating cable underneath.

B.A.C. MODULAR SYSTEM
This hub is a part of our modular system, ensuring that you never buy something that you won't use once your colony has grown. The modular system is easy to expand with other components. All modules are 5 cm or multiples thereof (this one, for example, is 5x5).
